Britney – Senior Session
Part 2 of my senior session. I would like to mention that the weather in Ohio was perfect; great light, good temperature and fantastic location:

Julie – Senior Session
Last week we flew up to Ohio to spend some time with family. On Thursday, we headed out to the fantastic Jeffrey Mansion for Julie’s senior session. Julie is actually Brian’s cousin, so it was kind of special to be taking part in capturing a special time in her life. I have these memories of her as a little kid and now she is a young woman. I am amazed at how much time flies! Here are a few of my favorites:

Stay tuned! On Wednesday I’ll share my second senior photos!
Brett Harris – Portraits
On Sunday I met with Brett Harris for a photography session. Brett’s music is not only fantastic, but it’s also featured on my website. What makes the whole thing even cooler is that Brett and I went to high school together and although we just recently reconnected, it’s been neat to see where our lives have taken us.
Anyway, Brett claimed that he was nervous in front of the camera, but this guy is a complete natural. I’m excited to share a few images from our session:

Okay I think this one or the next one is my favorite. I can’t decide:

Thank you Brett! Can’t wait to see you perform in Richmond again!
Ainoy – Bridals
Because of the much needed, but rainy weather we have been seeing in Richmond the last few days, Ainoy and I didn’t plan our location until the day of! It was a little nerve wracking because there was a 30% chance for showers, but we decided to go ahead and have an outdoor bridal session. I have been looking forward to working with Ainoy again just because we had so much fun during their engagement session.
Ainoy showed up with a gorgeous Monique Lhullier dress and weather.
First, check out the beautiful bouquet from the talented Pauline at Elations Designs. Brides-to-be, I highly recommend working with Pauline! She will make sure your wedding is spectacular:

And then to the beautiful bride-to-be. Nevermind that it was super humid, but the light and time was perfect:

I love how the dress bustles:

Stay tuned next week for the big day! Thanks Ainoy.
Janet – Portraits
A quick session from today for Janet, who asked me to photograph a couple of head and body shots for her modeling portfolio. Even though it was raining all morning and cloudy in the afternoon, it sure did provide for some good light:

As a side note, I am enjoying the much cooler weather we have had the last couple of days, especially for August!
LuAnn & Family – Portraits
On Saturday, Brian and I headed out to Maryland’s Zahniser’s Yachting Center to spend the day with LuAnn and her family. We knew LuAnn through Andy and Ami (LuAnn’s daughter) because Brian plays flag football with Andy and I actually photographed their daughter’s newborn/family portraits.
LuAnn and her family were truly welcoming and the Yachting Center was a brilliant choice for their location. We started the morning on their boat (thankfully I didn’t get seasick with the combination of ginger pills that they provided me and the Dramamine) and then headed off to the playground, backfield, restaurant and pool. It was a bit humid and hot, but thankfully there was some cool breeze from the water.
Each child has their own pirate flag that grandpa helps them put up:

The whole family:

After the boat we split up for the 3 smaller groups of the family:

And this one totally cracks me up. The “original” family:

Thanks for the fun day and taking good care of us!
Anne – Bridal
Yesterday I headed out the Edgar Allan Poe Museum to photograph Anne’s bridals. It was super humid and hot, but Anne did wonderfully. I was especially impressed at how quickly she dressed and what a great sport she was when her dress got a little dirty…even with her wedding this weekend!
The first time I met Anne I thought she reminded me a bit of a modern day Audrey Hepburn with her hair and charming personality. And yesterday as I was working with her, she is just as lovely and graceful as I thought. See for yourself:

And she wore flats!

I am looking forward to Saturday!
Tracey – Bridal
Yesterday I photographed Tracey’s bridal session…just in time for her wedding next week! Accompanied by her mother and sister, the women had me laughing so hard I literally had to stop taking photos! Her sister told Tracey, “Pain is temporary…pictures are forever.” I’m going to remember that line for a while!
Although it was really warm out, the humidity wasn’t terrible, and the late late afternoon sky was gorgeous (and the rain held off!).
I am so amazed at how good looking all my brides are. They are all so beautiful and gorgeous! Tracey claims she is not model material, but I beg to differ:

Thanks for the fun day ladies!
Nate, Melissa & Isaac – Family
Although the majority of my work on my website is wedding-related, I do photograph families! This weekend I had the pleasure of spending some time capturing images of Nate, Melissa and Isaac for their family session. Although weddings can be fast-paced, there is nothing quite like chasing after a toddler! Although I met Isaac in December, I almost didn’t recognize him! Children grow so quickly; it is special to be able to photograph a moment in time of their life.
Some highlights of the day:

Check out his hair! This cracks me up:

And for Melissa:

Thanks to Nate, Melissa and Isaac for the fun day!
David – Portraits
Ahh…the things we do for the perfect photograph! Yesterday Brian and I met up with David and I can honestly say it was quite an adventure! From very briefly parking on the side of the highway to traipsing through a field of thorns and then scaling huge hills and jumping over water streams, camera equipment and in a dress and all to get some shots. It was hilarious because we were also racing against the sunset and we’d holler that there was maybe 45 minutes…then 30 minutes left of light!
Some photos of David:

Whew…now I have to recover from all the scratches on my legs and arms!
